Norton Insight delivers innovative intelligence-driven technology f. Only thing that doesn't work is. Please help. It is basically the same thing with updates for newer OSs. I don't know if Windows 10 is officially supported yet, but I'm sure it will be. Hopefully, just by an update and not an upgrade. A user found a solution.

Have a look here Try doing the same with Ghost 15 and let us know how it goes. Just beware that Ghost 15 may not be compatible with certain things that have been updated over time UEFI, newer filesystems, etc.

It didn't work for me. I set compatibility for Windows 7, then Vista and it still didn't work. Did you try to reboot? Did you make sure VProSvc. Setting Ghost 15 to Windows 7 compatibility was the first thing I tried during my troubleshooting and it didn't work for me hence why I opted for another solution.

Since then I've reported the program incompatibility to Microsoft. That said if someone does find a workaround I'm happy to reinstall Ghost again. Redk's solution worked for me As a matter of fact I didn't even have to enter the License Key. Ghost 15 just started and ran without the request for a key.

The above is not quite correct. After a Windows Restart not requested by me - an update I guess when opening Ghost it once again asked for a license key. I went through the suggested procedure again and it once again starts without asking for the key. It's curious though that even after 4 days when it does suggest I'm on a trial version it still says I have 30 days remaining and never decreases.

Yes I did and also did it for VProTray. It works just fine after doing so but on a reboot tried that again it still has a problem. It seems that this problem has returned with the latest major update to Windows 10 v. Symantec System Recovery Service is no longer showing in the local services and so the trick mentioned for setting program compatibility no longer works. I'm using Ghost It works perfectly on Windows 10 and I've had no issues backing up or restoring my OS.

Until now that is since the latest W10 update. SSR R2 is now compatible with Windows I don't know if I'm looking at the right Veritas website but there's lots of waffle to wade through to find anything! I found a trialware version but the website gives no information about what it does and no screen shots of the product in use. At a quick glance I wouldn't even know they sold to the public. Thanks for the link, it seems I was on the right site but they don't want to show any product shots.

I did read the data sheet but according to that it only supports Windows 8. Are any of you guys actually using it on Windows 10 and has this been verified to be fully supported anywhere? I notice the application for the trial version asks me to input a Company Name but I want this for private use, I don't have a company.

Downloading now! Can't find any videos though, the Veritas website is a terrible design. They're not exactly selling themselves!

I've already installed SSR and have done several backups since last night. I like the new feature of being able to password protect images though whether I'll use it I don't know. I notice after creating my recovery disc the Windows Device Manager is now showing an error! Not sure if this occured during installation of SSR or during creation of recovery disc.?

Thanks but I already deleted it. I notice if you click 'Show Hidden Devices' there is a duplicate Generic Mount Device which uses the exact same Symantec driver but this hidden device does not show any errors.

I'm having a much bigger problem right now and that's where to buy a licence for home use? I just spent 20 minutes in a chat session with Symantec and they'd never heard of this software and they rudely ended the chat before we'd finished. As mentioned earlier the Veritas website is a nightmare to find anything and the link for purchasing takes you to a page where you have to answer stupid question which I don't even understand. It seems this whole outfit is geared up for corporate users, not home users like myself.

Here's one place. I would call them to make sure the license key is included. Maybe they can sell the license with media? I've never dealt with CDW but they have been around for a long time.

Do I take it that you don't use this product yourself? If you do how or where did you buy your licence? Here we choose the latter one. You can click OK to accept the default settings or click a setting to modify it. Whichever you choose, you can type the file name you need in the box under Find files to recover and click Search to find it. On Recover My Computer screen, find and choose the right system restore point and click Recover Now to make it. Depending on which version of the product you have purchased, Symantec Recovery Disk is either included on your product CD or as a separate CD.

Note: The drivers that are used to run the hardware on one computer will likely not match the drivers on a second computer. It offers 4 backup options for you to choose: system backup , file backup, disk backup, and file backup.

Besides, you can create a custom schedule backup. You can save the backup image on your hard drive, to the external hard drive, the USB flash drive, the network drive. When your computer goes wrong, you can boot the computer using the bootable media and perform a system restore to get everything back to normal.

If you want to upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 without losing files, this software is very useful. It backs up everything you want, either in the system partition or entire disk, and you can use it restore files or system as needed.

With AOMEI Universal Restore feature, you can restore a backup image, system image in particular, created on one computer to another one that has dissimilar hardware installed. It can also help you reinstall the system if you are planning to change the hardware such as motherboard, CPU, etc.

You can directly clone hard drive to another one with the disk clone feature.
