In reply to simonhpowell's post on August 6, Okay consider this closed, after some decent sleep and a fresh look at the computer again today, it's now working properly - the dedicated graphics is still showing as mb however, I can utilise the Iris Pro GPU to play games requiring a much higher dedicated video memory, such as GTAV etc.
